The Keep Me Safe Campaign started out as a fun conversation in science about force, speed and motion. The 2nd graders in Miss Anthony's class were recognizing how fast vehicles move and just how dangerous it is that so many people text and drive. They decided to put their imaginations to work and came up with a plan! If they could find a way to seek out parents and make the connection personal, they knew they could get their point across. The students have designed static-cling stickers that will be distributed to every child and parent at Lost Pines Elementary school. The parents will also be asked to sign a pledge. Their goal is to have all schools in Bastrop ISD supporting the cause and sporting the stickers on their windshields as a healthy reminder to keep them safe.
