& leaving an IMPRINT!

Dear Parents and Students

Welcome to 3rd grade! I am so excited for the great opportunity of looping with your kids to third grade.  This extra school year together is giving us more time to build a partnership and work together for the academic success of your children. I will continue building rapport, routines and habits with your kids. Together as a family your children will enjoy third grade in a save, fun and high academic level environment.

Third grade is a very important academic grade. Your kids will learn new concepts and skills that will be crucial for the rest of their academic life,

Reading as always is very important part of their learning journey.  Reading at their proficiency level will shape their academic life forever. Mathematics is also essential for your kids’ academic future.  Multiplication, division and fractions among others will set the stage for future concepts.

Remember that homework is a very important part of your child’s learning process. It helps students to retain and restudy daily learnings.

We have Mathematics homework every night and needs to be done in five minutes. We recommend to set off a timer when your child starts math homework.

Reading homework is given twice a week; one reading in English and one reading in Spanish.

The reading homework is part of their 20 minutes reading log.

This year students have their reading log inside the red take home folder and a daily journal notebook for their behavior log. Please do not forget to sign both of them and look for our class newsletter and office papers.

Let’s have a great year!
